Legal cases, both civil and criminal, depend upon facts that can be provided as evidence. An attorney's ability to recognize salient and pertinent evidence and its implications at law remain the paramount qualification for representation. Lawyers often joke about a "Perry Mason moment" when at trial all the pieces come together with a surprise confession, usually from the gallery. Though less dramatic, that is exactly what happens as each piece of evidence is submitted, whether it be a document, a testimony, or an appellate ruling. My private practice of law comes after many years of litigation support, an education that culminated in my tenure at the Missouri University Law Review, and eleven years as a prosecutor. Some of my most fabled quests involved bringing to justice those who had mistreated the most vulnerable in our society including animals. The "Perry Mason moment" came when the facts overwhelmed any contradiction and the case was won on the merits. My decision to represent a client depends more on whether or not they have a case that deserves justice than any particular practice area. My time, however, is split between my duties as prosecuting attorney for Monroe County, and my private practice in Boone and other countries. For this reason alone I may not be able to take a case, or proceed as quickly as some may wish. My promise to you as a prospective client encompasses confidentially, and a forthright assessment as to my ability to provide the representation that you deserve. Your privacy is assured regardless of any future representation by my firm or any other firm of your choosing. If you are seeking representation, you are encouraged to complete our Client Contact form, providing any details relevant to your case. This makes it easier to make an initial assessment and schedule the necessary time for a consultation. Thank You for considering the Sullivan Law Firm, and I hope we can be of assistance. Connie M.
