Professional ethics adopted by the Missouri Bar Association protect client confidentiality, and I am sworn to uphold that and other standards of conduct that are associated with the practice of law.

As a Client you must understand that your privacy may be invaded in the gathering of evidence by the opposing party. These disclosures should be contemplated before taking civil action, and discussed with your attorney. You have an assurance that the details will be held in confidence, and a proper assessment of your case can not be truly accomplished if you fail to provide information that may be a liability.

Client Confidentiality defines the basic trust established between the Client and the Attorney. The contract implies that even during an initial consultation anything you say or disclose is privileged communication and only you have the right to elect the disclosure of that information.

You should be aware that electronic communications may be intercepted by agencies of the government, and that such communications have been intercepted in the past, and I caution you as to what method you employ to protect those communications. The Sullivan Law Firm does not use encryption for emails as that would in the end prove futile should they be warranted or subpoenaed.

Those who wish to encrypt computer  files may wish to consider an office utility reviewed by Mike Siesel at 49 Reasons. The program is open source software and provides AES-256 encryption for files compressed in the ZIP format. 7-Zip is free to use and comes highly recommended. Please advise me if you decide to use this or another method of transmitting evidences to the Sullivan Law Firm.

If you are seeking representation, you are encouraged to complete our Client Contact form, providing any details relevant to your case. This makes it easier to make an initial assessment and schedule the necessary time for a consultation. Thank You for considering the Sullivan Law Firm, and I hope we can be of assistance.  Connie M.
